Anyone know how to extract lavender oil?
We have lavender in the garden and I would like (a) dry and (b) extracting oil to use as flavoring for ice cream and desserts. Ideas?
Well, it's a very long and laborious process, which why it is so expensive, but it boils and is rubbing the oil surface, continues to "rise to the surface" again and skim milk to make it more pure – this process is carried out up to ten times the traffic of lavender. For use in pies / cookies / ice cream, just use the rare flower heads – without much flavor feels perfumey Beng.
