All about birds / ducks? "Quack …?
We found a family of ducks today about 5 children and a mother. They were in a center the city, nowhere near water … but hidden and enclosed. The thing is, they are about to 8stories below ground level (but outdoors) .. in a big hole, if that makes sense! There are so grass for them, but we were a little confused about why they were there, and not near the water, etc. .. We can not imagine how to get food. Would it be dangerous (for ducks) so we moved into a beautiful water park where you get sick … or not to visit father duck / or changes in their environment are confused? Random I know … but we feel bad about it!
Whatever you do do not move! Ducks (mallards, in particular) often nest in urban areas, without source obvious water, but usually can get enough water from their food and dew and rain. You will not be able to move the adult ducks, as it is very difficult to catch and if not caught and move themselves and their chicks most likely to abandon their young because of stress and, obviously, if you move the chickens without their parents move, die predators quickly or be killed. If you want to help them stay away from them to avoid attracting dogs and cats in the region. If the chicks do not survive to parents is more likely to hatch another batch of babies later this year. The end result is the best we can do for them is leave them alone.
